Whitchurch Combined School

Growing Today, Ready for Tomorrow

This week we have been working hard in our SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) Lessons to recap some of the learning from Year 3.

This week I have set the children a task that focuses on clauses.

I have attached a guidance grid to explain all the SPaG concepts that the children will need to work on in Year 4. This document shows how the learning progresses from Year 1 to Year 4. By the end of the year the children are expected to be familiar with all expectations listed.

Spelling focus: Words with /shun/ endings spelt with ‘sion’ (if root word ends in ‘se’, ‘de’ or ‘d’)

division, invasion, confusion, decision, collision, television, revision, erosion

inclusion, explosion

division, invasion, confusion, decision, house, there, walked

Times Table focus this week: 7 x table
