Growing Today, Ready for Tomorrow

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's lessons

Your diary should now be ready to publish! Start by making sure that you have edited it and you are happy that it is as good as you can make it. In class we would write up our diary by hand and this can take up to three lessons so this is the time that I have given you. If you finish early, then use the extra lesson to find a good book to enjoy.

Remember to add in all the corrections that you have made, to write in paragraphs and to arrange your diary into the sections that you wrote it in, using underlined headings for each new entry.

You can choose from the options below how you would like to publish your work. Whichever one you go for, I would like you to send me a clear picture of the finished work. I would like to stick your work into your proud work book at school. I am also planning to share all of your excellent writing in a slideshow on our class page of the website. Because of this, please do not write your full name where it appears in the picture.

You can either:

  • Write your work up neatly by hand. You could add in pictures to illustrate the entries if you wish.
  • Type up your diary on a computer. You could find and include pictures from the expedition. Just a quick warning that, unless you have practiced typing a lot, this can be quite a slow option!
  • You could pick either of the options above but get a bit more creative! Maybe you could make a version of Hillary’s diary in a notebook or any other great ideas.

I am really excited to see your finished work!
