Whitchurch Kites vs Brill... 2nd round of the Cup
Cup Match Highlights: Courage and Commitment on the Pitch ⚽☀️
It was another day and another game for the girls as they headed into their second‑round cup match—this time in much sunnier conditions.
Despite a bright and energetic start, the team were unfortunate to concede two first‑half goals against strong opposition. Even so, the girls showcased excellent defending, working together to keep the scoreline tight and battling for every ball.
Brill then added a third. What truly stood out though was their resilience and determination. Not once did they drop their heads—pushing forward with 110% effort and working tirelessly to reduce the deficit right until the final whistle.
It wasn't to be for the girls today against technically strong opposition but as ever I was super proud.

Whitchurch Kites vs North Marston... Year 5/6 Girls League
Match Report: A Gritty Performance in Tough Conditions 🌧️⚽
On a very wet and muddy afternoon, the girls showed incredible determination as they took to the field against North Marston side in their latest league fixture.
Despite the challenging conditions and a defensively organised opposition, the team worked tirelessly to create opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the first half when Mollie struck twice, finishing two well‑crafted team moves to give Whitchurch a deserved lead.
As the rain grew heavier in the second half, the girls continued to push forward in search of more goals. However, North Marston’s defence stayed resilient, making further breakthroughs hard to find.
💪 A hardworking, spirited performance from the whole squad in extremely tough conditions. Well done, girls!

Netball - Whitchurch Wildcats v Cuddington & Dinton - Spring 2
Report by Ruby and Anvitaa, Year 5
On Thursday 26th February, the Whitchurch Wildcats played an exciting netball match against Cuddington & Dinton School.
The team played really well and showed fantastic determination throughout the match, narrowly losing by just one point, with a final score of 6–5 to Cuddington & Dinton.
In the first quarter, Mollie scored an impressive three goals, helping us take an early 3–2 lead. Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite hold on to our advantage, but every player continued to work hard and support one another until the final whistle.
We all came away with smiles on our faces, showing great sportsmanship, teamwork and having lots of fun.
A big thank you to Kim and Rose for training us and to Mrs Carson for accompanying us to the match and supporting the team. Well done, Wildcats! 🏐
Whitchurch Wanderers v Swanbourne - Spring 2
Match Report by Oscar, Year 6
On 26th February, the Wanderers played a football league match against Swanbourne C of E School in an exciting and hard-fought game.
We made a fantastic start and scored the first goal of the match, with Misha finding the back of the net after an excellent assist from Max, who played a brilliant through ball to set up the chance.
Just before half time, Swanbourne managed to equalise, making it 1–1 at the break. In the second half, despite some great saves from Max, Swanbourne scored two more goals.
The final score was 3–1 to Swanbourne C of E School.
At the end of the match, Max was awarded Player of the Match by Swanbourne for his outstanding saves and all-round performance.
Mr Soar was very pleased with the team’s effort, praising how hard we worked and the resilience we showed against some bigger players.

Whitchurch Warriors v Swanbourne - Spring 1
Whitchurch Warriors vs Swanbourne School
The Whitchurch Warriors faced another tough challenge this week as they took on a strong Swanbourne School side. Despite a determined performance, the final score ended 0–3 in favour of the visitors.
The muddy surface made conditions tricky for both teams, but the Warriors showed great character and resilience throughout. There were some excellent passages of passing football, with the team working hard to move the ball quickly and support one another across the pitch.
Scott put in a commanding defensive display, making several crunching tackles to halt Swanbourne’s attacks and lift the team’s spirits. Alex also stood out with his calmness on the ball, showing composure under pressure and helping to build play from the back.
A special congratulations goes to Mollie, whose outstanding all-round performance earned her the Player of the Match award, voted for by Swanbourne School — a fantastic achievement!
Although the result didn’t go our way this time, the effort, teamwork, and positive attitude on display were clear for all to see. Well done to all the players for their hard work and determination — we look forward to the next fixture!
Whitchurch Wanderers v Newton Longville - Spring 1
Whitchurch Wanderers Take on Newton Longville
On a dry and nearly sunny Thursday, the Whitchurch Wanderers bravely took on a strong Newton Longville team, finishing with a 1-5 scoreline. While the result didn’t go our way, it didn’t reflect the bravery, energy, and skill shown by our Year 5 and 6 boys, who faced a physically larger team with determination.
The team defended brilliantly together, with some fantastic saves from Max and an expertly finished counter-attacking goal from Ethan L. Special congratulations to Jamie, who was nominated Man of the Match by Newton Longville for his outstanding defensive tackles.
A big thank you to Mr Waite for refereeing and to all the parents who came along to cheer the boys on. An impressive performance from the Whitchurch Wanderers – keep up the great work!
Whitchurch Kites v St Michael's - Spring 1
Mud, mud and more mud!
Our Year 5/6 girls team were ready to take to the field again in their next league game against St. Michaels who have always proved to be our toughest competition.
Despite the rain, the girls put up a tremendous battle full of enthusiasm and gritted determination against quite physical opponents, but they didn't let this deter them, ending the first half 1-2 down.
The second half proved just as close, with lots of strong tackles, fabulous saves and chances to both teams including us rattling their post. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for the Kites today, with the score staying the same, but girls you should be so super, super proud of your efforts. A much closer encounter than before!
Netball - First League match vs Edlesborough - Spring 1
After months of hard work and growing excitement, the Whitchurch Wildcats finally stepped onto the court for their first league match against another school.
They all played their hearts out, showing some fabulous passing moves, great defensive interceptions and numerous shots on goal , finishing the first two quarters with a well deserved 1-1 draw. The girls kept battling with lots of determination, including a few unlucky misses but unfortunately Edlesborough managed to edge ahead with two more goals, ending the game 1-3 to the opposition.
It was wonderful to see netball back at school, the children buzzing with excitement and the parents offering fantastic support from the sidelines. Every player showed tremendous, enthusiasm , big smiles and true sportsmanship throughout.
Super well done girls! Roll on the next match!

Rock Climbing at SHFGS - Spring 1
🧗 Year 5 & 6 Rock Climbing Experience 🧗
Some lucky Year 5 and 6 children recently had the opportunity to try rock climbing at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. Benny in Year 6 shared his thoughts about the exciting morning.
Benny explained that the session began by watching some climbing videos. The children learnt about different types of climbing, including traversing and speed climbing. The coach encouraged everyone to watch how others moved, as this could help them improve their own technique.
The children then played a variety of climbing games. One challenge involved finding two footholds and touching as many handholds as possible, with each child trying to beat their own best score. They also learnt how to find the smartest and most efficient routes across the climbing wall.
Benny especially enjoyed climbing while blindfolded! Luckily, the wall was only 30cm off the ground and there were mats underneath to keep everyone safe.
The session was great fun and a fantastic opportunity for the children to try something new and different. Thanks to Mrs Evans for taking us too!
Netball - First Friendly at Bedgrove - Spring 1
🏐 Netball – First Friendly Success! 🏐
Our netball team recently took part in their very first High 5 Netball friendly against Bedgrove Junior School in Aylesbury, and it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
It was lovely to see so many smiles, excellent sportsmanship and growing confidence throughout the match. The children mixed brilliantly with pupils from other schools, made new friends and represented our school superbly both on and off the court.
We are extremely proud of their positive attitude and behaviour and are excited for the matches and tournaments coming up.
A big thank you to Bedgrove Junior School for hosting us. We look forward to meeting again soon.
