The Great Fire Of London Day - History Off The Page
Year 2 went back in time today to 1666 where they found out all about the Great Fire of London. They became apprentices for the different shops that existed at the time and learnt about their crafts. They were metal workers, weavers, scriveners, candle makers, chemists, bakers and tanners. Lots of fun was had making different items when they were learning their craft.
Later in the day, they then went forward in time a little bit to after the fire and had to sift through the wreckage that was found at different locations. Their challenge was to try and decide which shop the different artifacts belonged to and whether the shop had been burnt down, blown up or pulled down, using the various clues provided.
What an amazing day of fun through hands on learning!
