Power Of Reading

What is The Power of Reading?

The Power of Reading is a complete book-based approach to the teaching of reading and writing.  It develops reading comprehension, writing composition and fosters a whole school love of reading and writing.  As a school, we subscribe to this approach, with each year group selecting at least 3 texts (one per term) from The Power of Reading book selections (see the book lists below for examples).  This ensures age appropriate high quality texts have been selected to teach from.  These texts compliment our other text choices within each year group ensuring high quality and diversity in our literature (see our reading spine for further details of text choices in each year group).
